As a moderator I struggled on whether to release this message into the wild of this forum, but in the end I thought this would represent an opportunity to speak about a horrendous problem in our industry which is acting like a cancer on quality and rates. But first, it's time to mock Seemi a bit STATS The originating email contains the following header field: 'X-Google- IP: 202.59.70.51' If we issue a whois command on this IP address we wind up with resolving to an address with the Nexlinx ISP in Lahore Pakistan. Next, let's take the public information from the email address and see if we can find someone in Lahore Pakistan with that name who uses LoadRunner? Within just a few seconds Google responds with this profile for Sumaira in Lahore,.

~If~ this is the same Sumaira Faheem who originated the crack request then her employer SigmaTec Solutions Pvt. Limited where she is a SQA Engineer (Team Lead), should be outraged, especially given the statements on the company website 'We strive to provide our clients with cost effective, high quality solutions while adhering to committed deadlines through Empathy, Honesty, Doing whatever it takes attitude; combined with Professionalism and high standards of business ethics.' Notice those ethics and Honesty references. One wonders if this applies to software licenses used by their employees. ~If~ this is not the same Sumaira Faheem who originated the email to this forum then she has a doppelganger hanging about on the internet who lives in the same town as her that is stealing software and is likely to cause her career problems.
Sumaira, go find your double and have an impolite conversation about that person's impact on your career. Assuming that the Sumaira is correctly identified and her employer on her linked in profile is correctly identified and this is not a doppelganger, I would be very very nervous about both your license exposure and your software results if I was working with Sumaira or her employer.
OK, setting aside the who in this case, think about what this does for our industry. Here you have a black market player. They are able to, but virtue of their pirated software, able to offer services at a price point lower than any legitimate provider who must pay for the use of the software. This is before you add in any issues on whether any organization which pirates software is going to be willing to spend the money to hire effective people or to train people to be effective in their role. From what I have observed over 15 years, any organization willing to engage in the software piracy for QA tools is unwilling to spend money elsewhere to ensure high quality. So now we have a situation of (1) an organization using pirated software which allows them to lower their cost basis for delivery to below that of any legitimate provider and (2) an organization unwilling to invest the time and money required to have high quality individuals who are capable of effectively using the tools. And your management has just been approached with an incredible price for this company to handle your performance testing needs with an incredible price at which management is unwilling to look behind the curtains to figure out how the wizard is doing the work.
