Kundo clocks refer to clocks made by the German company Kundo, the trade name of Kieninger & Obergfell, during the 20th century. Kuno produced mantel and coach clocks, but are most famous for their flagship anniversary clocks. Kundo was one of the leading anniversary clock manufacturers during the early and mid 20th century. Kundo Anniversary clocks Anniversary clocks are long-running torsion pendulum clocks, also known as 400-day clocks. They often feature glass bowls around the main body of the clock. They are known as anniversary clocks due to the idea that the owner chooses a meaningful date, such as the anniversary of the date you received it, as a reminder to wind it each year. Kundo anniversary clocks were first produced in 1923 and are now highly collectible.
They come in several styles but are based on two main types: fixed pendulum and removable pendulum. They are extremely reliable and can run for between nine to 13 months between resets.
