EDIT: Re-installing NVIDIA drivers and verifying game cache as well as temporarily moving GTA V settings file in documents fixed this problem for me. Every once in a while i play GTA online to check out the latest rockstar updates. When i start GTA V after a while like a month or so there is some kind of problem with launcher that fixes itself the next time i run GTA V but this time it is not going away. Whenever i launch GTA V from steam, the launcher screen comes, log me in and then it crashes on social club screen and this problem is not going away itself. I have tried closing and re running steam and couple of reboots too. The only thing that i have changed in my PC is my GPU yesterday.

I was running GTX 970 SLI and swapped it for a single GTX 1080. I ofcourse uninstalled all NVIDIA entries and reinstalled drivers after plugging in my GTX 1080.

I also tried running the GTA:V Launcher with both folder properties windows open (Program Files location and Documents location) and set them both to read-only (kept the windows open to prevent them from resetting).

Its also worth mentioning here that out of more then 10 games that i tried after installing my GTX 1080 works perfectly fine, its only GTA V that refuse to start and crashes. I really don't want to uninstall and download 65 GB again as it will take more then a day on my meagre 12 Mbit connection. Anything else i can try to make it work?

Could it be a DRM related issue as i changed my GPU and it might have it flagged? But the launcher outright crashes which makes me think its not drm thing.

READ THIS IF YOU HAVE UPDATED FROM 1.0.6 to 1.0.7. The mods you disabled won't appear anymore due to folder change. To resolve this, go to your game directory (you can do this by launching the new version of this launcher then, settings > Open GTA V Game Directory) Then go to Launcher disabledMods.

Copy all the files in this directory then go back to the game directory and paste those here. Get in the launcher and go to 'Choose Mods' > Reset from config > Confirm > Yes > No Then, you can delete the Launcher directory. If you downloaded 1.0.7, there is a bug with steam version. To quick fix this, create an empty PlayGTAV.exe file in your GTAV directory then start the launcher Every released version is digitally signed with a certificate given to bigcoding.com. Its fingerprint is 1ead2bb682d9e02e6b8e63da7571dc From 1.0.10, Issuer name is moffa13.com. And the fingerprint is 13dff05f4e35015240ea2041372da3 Normal and Steam editions are supported!

Just open.rar and extract the launcher wherever you want. If you play online and GTA says corrupted, ensure that your modified rpf files are in the *root*/mods folder. For example, if you want to modify update.rpf, copy it to *root*/mods/update/update.rpf.
